The formation in chronological order

 

February 1977 Application for a piece of land in Shah Alam to construct a Catholic Church by then the late Archbishop of Kuala Lumpur, Tan Sri Dominic Vendargon.
1989 Formation of a chapel in Taman Sri Muda, Shah Alam for the convenience of Catholics who had no transport to go to Church.
November 1991 The Selangor State Government through Perbadanan Kemajuan Negeri Selangor (PKNS) alloted a piece of land of an area of 1.2 acres at No. 1, Jalan 24/17 at section 24, Shah Alam, for the construction of the Catholic Church.
June 1993 Started construction work of the Church at Section 24, Shah Alam.
August 1993 Completed piling works but asked to stop by the then Majlis Perbandaran Shah Alam (MPSA)
June 1995 Recommencing of works on site after submission of fresh set of building plans.
February 1996 Asked to stop work second time by the MPSA quoting the decision of the State Exco that the site was not suitable for a place of workship. Alternate site to relocate Church land would be indentified.
February 1999 Offer of land at Jalan U1/79 (opposite Monfort Boys Town) for the Church building by the State Government.
March 2000 Majlis Bandaran Shah Alam (MBSA) approved building plans for the Church at Jalan U1/79.
December 2000 Selangor State Government withdrew approval for construction of a Catholic Church at Jalan U1/79 and approving an alternate lot for 1.2 acres at U1/13A. The alternate lot was rejected by the Church because there was no infrastructure in the area.
February 2001 Application for Judicial Review was filed in the Shah Alam High Court to review the decision of the State Government.
July 2001 The State Government identified another piece of land at Lot 172, Jalan Pemaju U1/15 for the construction of a Catholic Church. The offer was taken up by the Church.
8th December 2003 Started construction work of the Church of the Divine Mercy at Jalan Pemaju U1/15, Shah Alam.
November 2004 Completion of the Church of the Divine Mercy.
4th December 2004 Closing of the Chapel in Taman Sri Muda, Shah Alam.
3rd July 2005 Issuance of CF for the Church of the Divine Mercy by MBSA. CF received by the Church of the Divine Mercy on Monday, 10th July, 2005.
Friday, 15th July 2005 First mass celebrated in the Church of the Divine Mercy at 1 p.m.
Sunday, 17th July 2005 1st Sunday Eucharist celebrated at 5.30 p.m.
Sunday, 11th August 2005 CDM website launched by  Rev. Fr. Raymond Pereira after Mass at 12.00 noon and at 6.30 pm.
Saturday 10th September, 2005 Grand Opening, Mass and Blessing ceremony of the Church of the Divine Mercy presided by Archbishop Datuk Murphy Nicholas Xavier Pakiam at 10.00 am
Sunday, 11th September, 2005

Mass presided by Apostolic Delegate, Archbishop Salvatore Pennacchio at 9.00 am

Opening ceremony of Wisma Divine Mercy at 10.30am 

 

 

It was the Holy Redeemer Church of Klang, the Mother Church that gave birth to Church of The Divine Mercy, Shah Alam.
